Hopefully this will post on the ISS Group main group page. Yes, what a luxury to do art (and stay in my right brain) for 10 days. I always feel so buoyant in Taos at the ISS. It's like stepping into another universe where all I have to do is be creative. What fun. I did open a 'courage door' in Taos, though, and now I have ventured into acrylic paint. The other day I posted here "Bird Square". Please comment. It's my first-ever acrylic painting. okay, so...does this painting suck? If so, please tell me. Well, that's okay if it does. I gotta start somewhere...!!! : ^ )...!!! megan

Hello! This was my first time attending ISS too and all I can say is WOW, what a wonderful experience it was! The generosity and encouragement of Fran, Katherine, Skip, Toph and Alex was unbelievable! I couldn't wait to get home and process all my new found information but like Mary was greeted with all kinds of "other stuff." I intend to spend most of this 3 day weekend painting!

I have been inspired since I returned home and have been painting almost non-stop! The dust bunnies love me and are growing everywhere!
I will be posting some new work in the near future and would love comments.
Fran, the lake is beautiful today

This was my first year at ISS, and I can truely say that it was a unique experience! I don't think I've every had 10 days in a row to paint. I loved seeing all the other participants work. The staff was great! Warm and welcoming, full of good advice. What a creative bunch! Very open to ideas, willing to share, lots of ideas floating around in that big room! I came home to a lot of worldly concerns, and have only painted a little, finishing up things. I think I can get seriously into work next week.

Hi, gang. Please check this out... on the Forum tab there is a new Critique Group just for ISS group members. Here's your chance to get informed comments on works you select from others who have been part of the Intensive Studies Seminar.

I participated in the Taos ISS this spring, 2008. Fran, by far, was the most helpful. Her insight and subtle suggestions greatly helped me. Sally B. Bailey

This was my fourth year of ISS. Every year I look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones. I have found the instructors give me just the right push. If it wasn't for them I would have stopped painting by now. Every year I come home with new energy and determination to be the best I can be! I can hardly wait for 2009 and am so glad they have decided to keep going.
And Fran I'm posting some new art work and I want to see if you can tell me what size brush I'm using?

This year was my first at ISS. I approached it quite timidly and humble, unsure of myself more than anything else. However, after the 10 days, I was on a new road to a higher level of understanding myself as an artist. All the instructors, as well as the participants were grand to say the least. I haven't had much time to put into practice what I began at the seminar, but the energy is still with me and I will soon be back in my studio working.
