I'm working with Arches 140 lb paper that comes in 10 yd rolls. I'd like to staple (?) a five foot length of it to an interior door and paint large. I tried soaking the paper first, then stapling it, but it pulled away from the staples when it dried and buckled. Any ideas on how to deal with this? - Bill

You all should be able to add new art in your regular method, then broadcast to the whole Critique Group the name of the pieces on which you wish comment / critique. You could also establish your own parameters to get the information from others that tells you what you want to know.

So I was thinking about starting a Critique Group on this site, like the ISS group, but for anybody who is interested in good crits of their work by fellow artists on this site. I think there would have to be ground rules established. If we start such a group, should it be just within the ISS contingent, or should we open it up? Would you both be interested in working together to establish good ground rules for the group?

What medium do you work in?

Watercolor

About Me:

I paint mainly in watercolor. My style is impressionistic and mysterious; achieved with simplicity of shapes and accent of color using thick application of paint. My most recent series of work focuses on “FAMILY”.

I have a DVD entitled “Beginning Watercolor: A Different Approach” .

In addition I have juried many statewide art competitions and have work hanging in private collections throughout the United States, Europe and Japan.

I earned a B.A. in art from San Jose State University with further study at local colleges. I have attended workshops/classes with such notables as Sergei Bongart, William Reese, Chris Rex, Don Andrews, Skip Lawrence, Alex Powers, Christopher Schink, Katherine Liu, Fran
Larsen, Anita Wolff and Glenn Bradshaw.

Many galleries in California have had or have my work. I'm now showing in the Iron Willow Gallery of New Mexico.
